Frequently Asked Questions:

  • What does "Unlocking" mean?

    A locked phone is one which can only work with the original simcard that came with the phone package. When another simcard is used,  the phone gives an error such as "incorrect sim" or "invalid sim" and will not find the new cellular network. Unlocking involves removing this restriction imposed by the original network using an unlock code, software or else both.

     

  • What are the main benefits of unlocking your phone?

    - You can use any simcard that you like inside your phone. If you are a frequent traveler, then you can use a pay as you go simcard from your travel area and save a lot of money on roaming charges.

    - You won't need to purchase a new phone when changing from one cellular network to another especially if you are really happy with your current phone and absolutely does not want to change it.

  • - The resale value of the phone is increased greatly if you intend selling it.

    - You can also use two simcards in the same phone (using a twin sim adapter).

     

  • Will I have to unlock my phone every time I change SIM Card?
    No, even if you upgrade the software (flash) or hard reset your phone, it remains permanently unlocked, no matter what you do to it.

  • Will the unlock process damages my phone in any way?

    The answer is simply a big NO. Unlocking the correct way does absolutely no harm to your phone, however if you have received the unlock codes from an unreliable source or else you have used some free software that is available around, then the risk is always there. Using incorrect codes can "hardlock" the phone making it useless.

     

  • Why are the logos of my previous cellular provider still showing up after that I have unlocked the phone?

    Unlocking does not change in anyway the software setup inside your phone. It only resets the barrier imposed by the original cellular provider. Logos, contact lists, emails, splash screens, videos, mp3, etc, etc will all remain intact.

     

  • What if the code/software provided will not work and the phone is still locked?

    No such possibility exist technically. If you supply us with the correct information (phone model, country, cellular network and IMEI) we will just supply you with a successful unlock code/software. In such a rare occasion that the unlock code provided does not work, we will fully refund you.

     

  • I can't find my phone model or cellular network - what can I do?

    Just contact us and we will add them to our list. Your help is greatly appreciated.
